Providence Residents
Students who reside in Providence and live two miles or more away from the school qualify for a free monthly RIPTA bus pass. This distance is determined by the Providence School Department. Families must apply for this every year.
Students who have a medical need that requires transportation and live inside the 2-mile radius may contact the Providence School Department’s Transportation Office for a waiver, but the request must be documented by a doctor’s letter explaining the physical need.
Residents outside of Providence
Students who live in Region 3 as determined by the RI Department of Education (RIDE) can receive transportation to and from school. You must apply for transportation from the R.I. Dept. of Education via their RIDE Online Application Form. Cities and towns in Region 3 include:
- Barrington
- Bristol
- Central Falls
- Cranston
- East Providence*
- Johnston
- Lincoln
- North Providence
- Pawtucket*
- Providence
- Smithfield
- Warren
*Students from Pawtucket and East Providence must contact those school departments directly to arrange for bus transportation.
Students from other cities and towns other than those listed above must arrange their own transportation to and from school.
